Parks And Outdoor Recreation

Salt Lake City is one of those cities where if you live there and you don't like to hike, bike, camp, ski, or boat, you're missing out on about 80% of the recreation opportunities. Salt Lake City's picturesque setting and proximity to several well known national parks and resort areas makes in an ideal jumping off point for all kinds of adventures, just not those that can been done outside Toronto townhouses, so if that's the kind of thing you're interested in, you're better off not coming here. To give you a quick overview of some of the outdoor recreation opportunities available in and near Salt Lake City, we've created this article.

If organized sports, particularly winter ones, are something you're interested in, you might want to start your tour of Salt Lake City recreation at the Utah Olympic Park, which is convenient to the downtown Parc Nuvo-style accommodations. There you can participate in sports like ski jumping, bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton if you belong to a club or as a special ticket from the visitor's center. Nearby in Kearns is the Olympic Oval where you can speed skate and Soldier Hollow in Heber City, which has the Olympic quality cross-country skiing tracks.

Capitalizing on the long winters, Pacific snowstorms and lake effect snow that Utah enjoys are the Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, and Snowbird resorts, located in the nearby Wasatch Mountain Range. If you feel like prying yourself out of your heated apartment in Charlie Condos, you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding on Olympic quality runs in the winter. The resorts are also open in the summer as well, since the warm weather transforms the mountains from snowy wastelands into rugged green playgrounds. Summer resort activities include hiking, camping, rock climbing, mountain biking, boating and fishing.

Salt Lake is also a popular golf destination in the summer, which should appeal to all you Trinity Bellwoods real estate owners. The city's ten top courses can be played on one ticket known as the SuperPass. Centennial Park is another popular summer destination, as it has numerous sporting fields and amenities. White water rafting and canoeing trips leave regularly from the city, and you can also take lessons in rock climbing and spelunking.

With so much unparalleled scenery, the Salt Lake City area is rife with national and state parks in a way that will make you want to sell your real estate in Georgetown, Ontario and move here. The Arches National Park features the largest concentration of natural rock arches in the world. Canyonlands National Park provides sweeping views of canyons and rivers and is popular with four-wheeling enthusiasts and picnickers.
